Celebrating Culture and Community: A Special Thank You

From May 20–23, our school was filled with energy, pride, and culture as we welcomed Orville, David, and two incredible youth dancers Ashton and Wab. Throughout the week, Orville shared his knowledge and stories with the students, showing them traditional pow wow regalia and explaining the meaning behind each piece.

Ashton and Wab amazed us with their performances of the Fancy Shawl, Jingle Dress, Grass Dance, and Traditional dance. Their movements and presence were powerful and inspiring. Many of our students were so moved that they started dancing in class afterward, bringing the spirit of pow wow into their everyday learning.

We are truly grateful to Orville, David, Ashton, and Wab for taking the time to visit us. Thank you for being such positive role models and for sharing your culture, teachings, and talents with our students. Miigwetch!
